When it’s hot outside enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk, there’s nothing better than dipping, diving or cannon balling into cool water. Here’s where to head for outdoor swimming joys in Brno.

Do you live in the center and you don’t like commuting in the hot weather? Swimming pools at Kraví Hora, Lužánky Park, and Královo Pole are the best options for you. A fancy swimming pool at Kraví Hora, winner of awards in architecture such as Best Public Building 2004, located on the top of the hill grants unusual aesthetic experience. The regular ticket for 150 CZK / day may seem kind of pricey but two beautifully designed pools and the picturesque view over the city in summer are definitely worth it. Outdoor pools are open every day until 10 PM from June 1 .

Would you like to swim in an Olympic-sized pool? “Za Lužánkami” indoor pool by Lužánky Park offers diving towers and boards for those who like to take a challenge and work on their muscles. Take a dip in a simple pool for leisure time and relaxation when you have enough of exercise. The admission fee starts from 80 CZK.

Lucky residents of Královo Pole can choose between two pools in their district. The first one, so called “Dobrák”, popular among Brno’s youth, is a recently reconstructed swimming pool. Besides the necessary tacky stalls with ice-cream, corn-on-a-cob and sausages, there is a cocktail bar that stays open until late hours. Summer season at Dobrák starts on June 3, and as the always do, they leave the facility open for evening swimmers until 10 PM. They offer many fun activities for kids and a well equipped playground for summer sports, too. The regular entrance fee is 100 CZK.

“Královopolská” is the second swimming pool in the area with excellent facilities that guarantee endless fun for both adults and kids – a pool for good swimmers (25 m), pool for children (25 m), children’s park with a sandpit and slide, trampoline, and sports facilities. With an admission fee starting at 60 CZK, we believe it’s a great deal!

How about swimming in nature and enjoying the safety of a swimming pool at the same time? In the middle of a huge natural park, sits a delightfully clean stream-fed swimming pool Brno Riviéra, usually fully occupied on hot summer days. Late 19th/ early 20th century’s Brno loved the venue already. The beautiful architecture comes in balance with the natural landscape and offers relaxed moments in a beautiful environment. Riviéra is located near Brno Exhibition Center (BVV) and is accessible by public transportation. Prepare to spend your whole day there, the facilities offer various options for fun and sports. It feels like you’re on holidays there. The regular entry price is 110 CZK with discounts after 4 PM.

If you like the ocean but you stay in Brno this summer, dip in a popular pool with artificial waves at outdoor swimming complex Zábrdovice. Your kids will love the 73-meter waterside, too. The grown-ups will have fun playing beach volley, badminton, table tennis, mini football, or skittles. Zábrdovice is about to introduce the first nude pool zone in Brno this season.

This is not the end of the story. In Brno, you can find many swimming pools, both small and big. We prepared a short list to help you decide. We hope you’ll have fun and enjoy the cool water.
