Kristkův dům is a corner building on Tišnovská and Trávníky streets in Brno-Černá Pole. Its owner, surrealist sculptor Lubo Kristek, has modified and decorated the house with elements from Albert Camus’s novel “The Myth of Sisyphus” inspired by Greek mythology.
Passers-by can see the “Sisyphus time machine” or golden “Mighty hands” reaching to the sky.
In 2018, Lubo Kristek plans to shoot two movies there to mark his 75th birthday
Kristek is a Brno native who lived in emigration, mainly in Germany, from 1968 to 1990. He devoted his life to creating art. He is famous for his surrealist sculptures, paintings, assemblages, and performance art. Some nickname Kristek “Moravian Salvator Dali”.
