June 4 (CTK) – Seventy-seven percent of Czechs are satisfied with the life at their place of residence, which is 4 percentage points more than last year and the highest share in the past ten years, according to the latest poll conducted by the Centre for Public Opinion Research (CVVM).
The second highest share was in 2004 when 76 percent of people assessed the living conditions at their place of residence positively.
The CVVM poll shows that villagers are more satisfied than inhabitants of towns and cities, while those living in medium-sized towns are the least satisfied of all.
When it comes to particular living conditions, Czechs appreciate the municipalities’ technical infrastructure the most, followed by waste disposal, clean streets and accessibility of schools, shops and services.
On the contrary, they mainly criticise the pay level in their regions, job opportunities, housing development and services for the disabled.
Compared with the 2016 poll on this issue, the public opinions remained more or less unchanged.
Only the respondents’ satisfaction with the accessibility and quality of services and the offer of culture events and sport facilities at their place of residence has slightly decreased.
The CVVM poll was conducted on 1000 respondents over 15 in the first half of April.
