If you have been in Brno in last two weeks, you probably had seen the fireworks of the annual competition at Ignis Brunensis [“Flame of Brno”]. The first fireworks were set off up to the stars at Špilberk Castle by the Czech team; the second show was prepared by Austrians last Saturday at Brno Lake. The next color festival managed by Germans will bring us back to the same place.

This Saturday, dazzling multicolored fireworks burst will open harmoniously against the backdrop of the night sky at Brno Lake. If you had been to any of the previous shows, you know that it’s best to come earlier because it takes some time to find the right spot. The spectators go to the Lake on fully packed trams and they have to pass the carnival on the shores of the reservoir. You may want to try some extreme gut-wrenching rides, sip some beer, or ride a pony on the carousel before the show.

The next show will offer something extra to expats – this time there will be a picnic night, organized by one of enthusiastic foreigners. The event will start at 15:00 in order to take the best place to watch the fireworks. Last year, most of the people however arrived past 6 pm and stayed as late as 2 am. No entrance fee is required, only positive mood and something to share – games, ball, Frisbee, snacks, or beverages.

Where: Brno Reservoir, exact location.
When: June 10th at 15:00
