The British band was formed in 1994, releasing their first album two years later. To celebrate the initial release, the band decided to go on a worldwide 20-year anniversary tour. On 26th of June, Placebo plays in Brno.

In addition to that, they have released a retrospective album. The album consists of 36 songs, including songs from the albums, singles, radio, and live versions. It also features a brand new single called “Jesus’ Son”. The band also released an EP, not that long ago. The extended play is called “Life’s What You Make It” and includes a few cover songs, a live recording, and a single.

The band is famous for their androgynous looks and dark music. All of their releases have reached at least top 20 on the charts of the United Kingdom. Despite being called a glam rock band, Placebo adheres to more grungy, melancholic, somewhat punky goth rock. The band’s songs incorporate many drug and LGBT references. The name, “Placebo”, was made up in the early 90s, at the time when some bands would chose to be named after drugs. The band decided to take the name after the “drug” that is not a drug after all.

As a celebration of the 20 years from the release of their first, self-titled album, Placebo is coming to Brno on 26th of June. The tickets are limited, so hurry up and book a rock-n-roll night out.
