International Day of Yoga in Brno – Meditate Together

Yoga, “listen” in Sanskrit, a set of thinking, feeling, and believing practices that came from ancient India. The goal of these practices is to find the so-called state of Samadhi, a state of meditative consciousness. Although nowadays, it is mostly a common physical exercise, having been brought in by Westerners from the Asia.

If you are stiff, want to find your Zen or seek salvation in the eternal tranquility, come to International Day of Yoga in Brno. There will be three events on June 16, 17, and 21 in Brno.

On June 16 from 6 to 8 pm at Knihovna J. Mahena, there will be a lecture by Martin Repko, a Ph.D. and the Head of the Orthopedic Clinic of the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital of Brno. The lecture is public and will be accompanied with practical examples of the exercises for back pain treatment and supportive prevention.

On June 17 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Kraví Hora park, there will be an open yoga class. It features workshops on yoga techniques to promote health and advanced positions for experienced yogis. That same day, there will be a children’s program from 3 to 4 pm.

On June 21 from 4:30 to 8 pm, there will be an open workout at Park Lužánky. There are three different levels of difficulty one can choose from. This helps to accustom the exercises to the needs and challenges of various groups of people.

Come, soften up your body, and drift away from the real world for a few moments.
