Brno, July 14 (BD) – The current unemployment rate in the South Moravian region is 4,7%. This is the lowest percentage recorded since 1998. The district of Vyškov scored the impressive rate of 2,7% in terms of unemployment.
Spokesman of the Czech Labor Office Kateřina Beránková informs that companies lack most workforce in mining and construction industries; cleaners, drivers, craftsmen and assembly workers are the second most sought-after workers now.
In April, unemployment in South Moravia dropped to 5.2%. In total, Czech Statistical Office reported 42,056 jobless people in the region. The number of vacant positions rose to 14,000 before summer.
The number of job vacancies across industries in the region keeps rising and the positions offered are for both long-term and short-term. Currently many companies are hiring for seasonal work.
The sharply declining rates of unemployment have been accelerated by the seasonal occupations in construction, agriculture and forestry.
