A historical town of Znojmo turns into the realm of classical and jazz music, excellent wine, theater and dance this month. The Znojmo Music Festival has been held since 2005 and is dedicated to classical music and renowned Znojmo wines.
The festival combines excellent music with tasting of outstanding local wines and friendly atmosphere. Visitors will able to enjoy music and the renowned local wine in the most beautiful spots of the city.
You can look forward two performances of the patron of the festival violinist Pavel Sporcl and pianist Petr Jirikovsky accompanied by Janacek chamber orchestra. The second performance will be a night solo recital of Pavel Sporcl.
The European Baroque orchestra of Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin will be the highlight of this year’s festival.
The organizers decided to present classical music in a not so classical way, performed in different untraditional places of the city; the quality of interpretation however remains untouched.
All performances commemorate 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s act of rebellion against Catholic church and represent the uniting and conflicting tendencies of the protestant and catholic music.
The Znojmo Music Festival started on July 6, 2017 and will finish July 23, 2017 at the city of Znojmo.
