As a part of the 12th Bohemian JazzFest Festival an exceptional mix of jazz, funk, and soul will be played at Náměstí Svobody. Starting at 5:30 pm, five talented music bands will show us their best. Come – the concerts are free of charge.
Any passersby will be able to listen to Mathias Heise, a harmonica and keyboard player that was crowned a Chromatic Harmonica World Champion in 2013.
Then, there is the AMC Trio, a Slovak band with a unique style combining pop and classical music. One of their albums won the Best Jazz Album category at the Radio_Head Awards.
Pavel Hrubý, a popular Czech sax player, will bring his critically acclaimed musical style to Brno in a music formation with a pianist Michal Nejtek and drummer Daniel Šoltis.
The peak of the festival will be marked by the New Orleans band The Soul Rebels.
Coming from the birthplace of jazz music, they have a reputation as one of the world’s best energetic jazz performers combining rock, jazz, soul and funk into a lively, vigorous mix.
The band has been opening concerts for Metallica, Marilyn Manson and other international celebrities. The highly anticipated performance will include covers of popular musicians such as Stevie Wonder or Jay-Z.
