Brno, July 24 (BD) – As the Brno Center (Brno-střed) Municipal Authority found out during the local investigation, the exhibition of cars did not meet the stated conditions on the basis of which it was approved. The organizers have been called to cancel the event today.
The main problem is that the show features cars for sale. This fact has not been reported by the organizer neither in case of the event at Moravské náměstí, nor at náměstí Svobody where the car show should continue this week.
Brno Center Municipality alerted the organizers last week.
Hence, there has been a repeated violation of the conditions for granting an exhibition permit.
Municipality sent a note to remove the exhibition earlier today. “We believe it will be removed as soon as possible, but no later than Wednesday,” says Kateřina Dobešová from Municipality PR department.
The request for a special use of the two squares for the placement of the exhibition was submitted by Meeting Brno, z.s.
Mototechna company, the organizer of the sales car show, sponsored the construction of the steel installation of German House for the festival Meeting Brno at Moravské náměstí. We wrote about it in our article Moravské náměstí Turns into Car Showroom July 27.
Brno Municipality allowed the car exhibition as a part of the barter deal with Mototechna, speculated daily MF Dnes and other Czech media last week.
