Enjoy the atmosphere of authentic medieval festival – historical fencing, music, market, path of death, jugglers, fortunetellers, and beer with eight centuries of tradition.
Tisnov is a small city located just half an hour away from Brno. The town has a rich history proven by many archaeological findings and interesting secular and ecclesiastical buildings constructed in different eras and styles.
In the morning, people can buy local groceries at the open air market at the central square. At 10 am the historical fair begins – come and watch diverse small crafts presentations, historical fencing, exhibition of bronze tools and listen to medieval music.
You can have your future read by a fortuneteller, too.
The organizers promise not only a good program, but also beer tasting (Tisnov beer from “Pivovar Kvetnice” is based on one of the oldest beer recipes in the country) and original medieval-style street food.
At the Historical Market Festival, visitors can learn more on the Path of Law, which leads from the center of Tišnov to the “Sibenik” hill and also visit the recently discovered venue for gallows at the Klucanina hill.
Explore the historic path inside Tisnov and its surroundings. Parts of the path are the City Hall, the Chapel of Sts. Anna and other interesting spots of the town.
The opening of the festival takes place at the Comenius Square (Komenského náměstí), where maps and other related material will be available. The festival ends with a concert of the Spiritual Quintet at 8 pm in the open air summer cinema.
Entry is free, tickets for the additional cultural events will be available at the Comenius Square.
