Police Consider Zbrojovka vs. Baník Game ‘Extremely Risky’

Brno, July 28 (BD) – Zbrojovka and Baník teams are traditional rivals and the atmosphere at their games is usually very tense.

Ostrava’s team returns to the competition after one year in the lower league. The organizers expect high number of fans – they released 900 tickets for sale.

Some fans consider the rival team’s supporters enemies for the club colors. The fans caused damages in the past.

Brno Municipal Police decided to deploy a considerable number of men to ensure safety in the vicinity of Srbská stadium.

Brno police consider the game to be extremely risky. Today (July 28) Brno Municipal Police will deploy hundreds of policemen including shield forces, dog handlers, and dozens of patrols.

For the time before and after the match, traffic on streets Srbská, Riegerova, and Boženy Němcové will be limited, Police report on their website.

Due to limited capacities, parking problems can be expected in the area. Police recommend the use of public transport.
