Brno, August 10 (BD) – ‘The faith in humanity restored,’ you can tell yourself after coming across a mobile coffee cart dressed in red and white, parked at Zelný trh. At DobroKáva, you can grab a hot coffee without paying any money. But it is not for free! You pay with an act of kindness towards others.
Mobile coffee carts are parked at each and every corner in Brno. But Zelný trh hosts a unique one. Project called ‘DobroKáva’ serves you coffee between 9AM and 5PM every work day. A cup of coffee in DobroKáva is worth one kind deed. The entire initiative is not only about general good and humanity, but also about fairness and honesty. Author of the project is Libor Hoření and DobroKáva has been serving its coffee at “Zelňák“ for several weeks.
How can I ‘pay’ with kindness?
DobroKáva offers three possibilities to repay your debt for a nice cup of coffee.
1) You pay with a good deed freely chosen by you.
2) You choose one of the good deeds listed on the blackboard at the cart.
3) You decide by choosing one of the “fortune cookies” which hides random good deed inside them.
What does one count as kindness? The blackboard states that you can pay with picking up trash, giving somebody a call or a flower, complimenting your tired colleague, buying food for a homeless person, making somebody laugh and many more.
Initiators of this enjoyable idea will not only give you a cup of coffee, they also have faith in your good side. “We believe in you granting the act of kindness to someone, it is all about trust,” the official web notes. No control over your behavior, only coffee and faith in you and your conscience.
You can share your experience with DobroKáva, or with your good deeds on their website or Facebook.
Be kind to people and DobroKáva will give you coffee in exchange!
