Brno, September 1 (BD) – As summer holidays are coming to the end and people are returning to their homes, South Moravian Police expect weekend full of stress on the roads.

Moravian policemen have already adopted various traffic safety measures. More than a hundred police officers will focus on measuring speed, adhering to the rules of road safety, and ensuring good traffic flow.

Andrea Cejnková from South Moravian Police adds that officers will control the drivers to reveal possible influence of alcohol or drugs.

The busy weekend started for the Brno traffic police today with a car accident on Banskobystricka Street. The thirty-three-year-old driver got a skid on the wet road and crashed into one of the houses. By miracle, she has had only minor injuries.

Another car accident happened this morning on Rybníček street. There, the driver of a Fiat car hit a 64-year-old woman. She underwent the collision without serious injury; with abrasions and a painfully elongated elbow.

Officer Cejnková mentions similar accident that happened at noon on Veveří street. The car hit a pedestrian who escaped without serious injury, too.
