Brno, Sep 4 (BD) – The most popular listings are baby products such as strollers, car seats, baby apparel and more. Maybe Facebook “Babyplace” fits better the Czech version.

Lizards, snakes, goats and turtles on Facebook

While browsing the Czech Marketplace we’ve also come across pets being up for sale. Lizards, snakes, goats, turtles and more living creatures are listed there.

Is it allowed by Facebook Community Standards though? The answer is no. Posts offering animals for sale are against Facebook’s policies and Facebook has added an option which allows people to report animal sales listed on the Marketplace.

Selling animals is prohibited with the new Facebook Marketplace.

The problem is not limited to the Czech Republic. “We are working to fix the problem and will be closely monitoring our systems to ensure we are properly identifying and removing violations before giving more people access to Marketplace”, Facebook stated for BBC.

Along with animal sales, Facebook Marketplace prohibits alcohol, weapons, tobacco and more. Find the list here.

The marketplace have been recently introduced in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
