Brno, Sep 19 (BD) – In a partnership with World Health Organization (WHO), Brno city organizes ‘Brno – Healthy City’ [‘Brno – Zdravé město’] – 10 days of physical exercise. The sports and health days intend to stimulate healthier lifestyles and behaviors of Brno citizens.

The 23rd annual citywide 10-days campaign that aims to promote awareness on healthier habits among the local community kicks off September 22 and ends October 1.

This year, there are scheduled over 100 events that conciliate physical and mental exercises. The event is dedicated to all the age groups. You can find diverse exercises; those that are for individual practice or group exercises that entire family can perform it along.

Local organizations have contributed to the planning of activities. Some highlights of the week will be, for example, Partner Massage Workshop; Nordic walking; Healthy and tasty meals; We all, the family, play on the Path of Health; and many others. Find the program here.

‘Brno – Healthy City’ promotes not only the regular practice of physical activity but also prevention against smoking and injuries through educational materials.

‘Brno – Healthy City’ project is a part of the EU program, European Health Strategy 2020 that wants to improve quality of life and health of Europeans who live in cities.

Brno joined WHO’s initiative in 1994 and it’s a founder of the National Network of Healthy Cities of Czech Republic.
