Brno, Sept 20 (BD) – A woman fights for life after serious crash. The car accident happened on Tuesday evening on the road to Kuřim.
KIA and BMW cars crashed; at this stage, it is unclear what caused the accident.
The traffic flow was blocked in both directions and the firefighters had to cut out an elderly woman pinned in a car after crash.
“She was a driver of one of the crashed vehicles. We handed the case to the rescue service,” Jan Dvořák, the spokesman of South Moravian firefighters reported.
The female driver suffered severe injuries. “We transferred an elderly woman to the emergency at Bohunice University Hospital in Brno,” Hedvika Kropáčová, the spokeswoman of Regional Rescue Service, said.
The driver of the second vehicle is being treated after the accident with smaller injuries in Bohunice hospital, too.
As a result of the traffic accident, a long traffic jam formed from Lipůvka to Brno-Ivanovice.
Drivers in the direction of Lipůvka had to wait up to 45 minutes. Cars lined up to a three kilometer queue in the direction of Kuřim.
