Brno, Sep 28 (BD) – On Tuesday, the Brno city councilors met to discuss new organization of Brno public transport in 2018. The proposed modifications should enter into force on December 10 this year, Municipality informed yesterday on the official website Brno.cz.
Changes in the tram lines 1, 9 and 3
Brno Public Transport Authority (DPMB) will extend the capacity of the tram line 1 on weekdays and of the tram line 9 on non-working days.
Tram line 3 will be newly operating from Vozovna Komín to Rakovecká in the morning and evening hours.
Changes for trolleybuses – lines 31 and E56
A trolleybus connection, line 31 Hlavní nádraží − Šlapanice, Kalvodova will run more frequently from December.
An E56 express bus connecting the Bohunice Hospital, Královo Pole Train Station and Technological Park will run more frequently, too.
New minibus line Bystrc – Žebětín – Troubsko – Univerzitní kampus
DPMB is ready to open a brand new minibus line on the route Bystrc – Žebětín – Troubsko – Univerzitní kampus.
The new line will allow passengers in Troubsko and Veselka switch to regional buses in the direction of Velká Bíteš and Rosice more easily.
Nigh buses will never miss a stop again
From December, Brno night buses won’t be taking shortened routes anymore. Newly, the night buses will always follow the complete route.
Options for new night buses connecting Brno with other cities in South Moravian region are also on the table.
The proposal includes night buses to former district towns where no night transport has been operating, for example, to Znojmo or Vyskov. Both cities are not served by Czech Railways in the night hours.
New regional night buses would leave the main train station around 00:30.
