Brno, Oct 3 (BD) – On Friday, UK’s The Guardian described Brno as a great ‘cheap and calm’ European city, ideal for a short vacation.
Apparently, Brno is popular among Guardian’s editors. In 2016, The British daily newspaper ranked Brno 8th best city in Europe for an alternative city break among Marseille or Bologna.
Guardian’s Kevin Rushby writes: “Modern Brno is booming, filled with students, young people and emigrés who have returned to the city with fresh ideas and energy, notably expressed in great restaurants and bars.”
The older Guardian’s article described the city as cheap, quiet and “free of stag dos”. Yet, there is a lot to do in the city. “New bars such as cocktail joint Super Panda Circus and gastropub Lucky Bastard Beerhouse are part of a growing collection of modern urban hangouts.”
Brno is the perfect destination for everyone who desires to avoid overcrowded cities, such as Prague or Vienna but are interested in embarking on a cultural trip.
“It’s a fine way to experience Czech life without the teeming herds of tourists that visit Prague. Art Nouveau, Empire and Neoclassical buildings stand in the bar- and restaurant-packed old city center. Leafy parks abound,” American travel website company Tripadvisor promises.
The urban mixture of beautiful squares, modern architecture and sculptures, world heritage sites in short walking distances, and local beer and wine tradition make the city perfectly tourist-friendly.
