Since Anežka (Agnes) Kašpárková got retired from her job in agriculture 30 years ago, she has been using her free time to paint blue Moravian flower motifs on façades of her neighbours’ houses and local church.

Her artwork has gone viral – people love her work and humble approach. Worldwide popular websites such as Bored Panda, Metro, or Oddity Central have published her story, calling her “Coolest grandma” or “Unlikely street artist”.

Using optimistic ultramarine blue and a small brush, Anežka creates beautifully complicated floral patterns inspired by traditional South Moravian artwork.

None of the paintings are planned in advance. The brushes spontaneously decide! “Oh, I am not an artist. I just do what I like,” she told to the Czech daily Denik.cz.

Anežka learned the art of hand-painting the Moravian motifs from her friend living in the same village.

It is worth to visit this unique and picturesque Czech village. Louka is located near Hodonín, about an hour and half away from Brno. Click here for a map.
