Brno, Oct 14 (BD) – As result of gas pipelines refurbishment, Brno’s traffic police foresee frequent traffic congestions in Hněvkovského street.
“The traffic flow will certainly not be improved at the time of road works,” the police spokesperson, Andrea Cejnková explained.
To guarantee people’s safety, this Monday the Brno Municipality will start repairing the gas pipelines located at the intersection with Pompova street. The reconstructions should be finished by November 13. The traffic flow is expected to get back to normal by then.
These road works won’t affect only the car drivers. The risk of frequent delays in public transport connections is high. Transport company of Brno (DPMB) is however not planning any alternative routes or schedules.
“We are not going to introduce any alternative routes, but there is a risk of delay,” DPMB spokesperson, Barbora Lukšová says for the Czech daily Brnensky denik.
From Bratislava and Budapest, drivers reach Brno using the D2 highway and go straight ahead to the city center following Hněvkovského and Plotni streets.
