Brno, Oct 17 (BD) – South Moravian firefighters will have a brand-new fire station that will replace the current one. The actual station does no longer have conditions or meets the operating requirements.
Last Friday, Jiří Pelikán, the Director of HZS and the company INTAR signed the agreement to start the project for a construction of new fire station in Brno to replace the old station built in 1940.
“I will only be glad if the project is implemented as quickly as possible so that the station looks a little more modern in the future than it is,” Mayor Petr Vokřál manifested.
The project that is estimated to cost more than 400 million CZK is going to be supported by European Community funds and state budget, too.
“We are trying to make use of all the projects that go from European money as well as different co-financing methods and therefore welcome any participation of other legal, physical and self-governments in the support of the Fire Rescue Service,” Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Slavomír Bell explained in the official statement.
The municipality invested over 10 million CZK to help with the procedures needed to start the project.
The city of Brno helped launch the project preparation process,” Jiří Pelikán, said.
It is not known yet when the construction of new fire station will be ready.
