The “Flag parade” started at 3 pm at Komenského náměstí (next to the Masaryk statue, the symbol of the University).

The parade celebrates 30th anniversary of popular student exchange “Erasmus program”.

European mobility programs, currently “Erasmus+”, were established in 1987. Over 9 million young people traveled Europe thanks to these incentives.

The International Student Clubs of Masaryk University, ISC VUT and ISC Mendelu (ISC) organize today’s Flag parade. ISC offers students fun and exciting activities and supports their engagement in the Czech student society.

On the opportunity of 30th anniversary of “Erasmus”, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker said: “Every euro that we invest in Erasmus+ is an investment in the future — in the future of a young person and of our European idea. I cannot imagine anything more worthy of our investment than these leaders of tomorrow.”

Throughout 2017, there are numerous events held all over Europe depicting the story of Erasmus+ and its predecessors since the beginning.
