Thousands of people walk everyday through Česká or Masarykova streets, and as this heavy flow of  commuters gets bigger, it also results in more built-up dirt on sidewalks. Ordinary street cleaning just doesn’t seem to make the cut these days. Therefore from now, every night the special street cleaning system will get the streets clean and shiny for next day’s passengers.

Clean even underneath garbage bins

Pressurized water and hot steam – these cleaning techniques were previously used only in front of the Main Station. However, Brno City recently reacted to the higher demand for cleaning services in the area from Masarykova to Česká street. In an official press release, the City approved the intensive cleaning in these new locations.

The special cleaning treatment uses a powerful stream of water and steam cleans even hard-to-reach places, such as underneath garbage bins.

In the official statement, Brno informed that these busy streets will be cleaned every day from 10 PM until 3 – 4 AM, or at other periods under special circumstances.

Cleaning weekends around Radost Theatre

Radost Theatre and its surrounding area have been facing piles of garbage scattered on the sidewalks. During weekdays, the streets were regularly cleaned up, yet weekends were spent without cleaning services.

However, last week the City has commenced to fight even weekend’s dirt and garbage in the streets around Radost Theater, namely Bratislavská-Kornerova-Stará. Saturdays and Sundays are now going to be working days for community service workers who will sweep these streets manually and give them a fresh polish.
