Last weekend, one of Brno Daily reporters visited the yoga festival Live Yoga Love Brno and decided to share the details with you! Photo: Martina Anišić, @BrnoDaily

Brno, Nov 14 (BD) – A lot of people love to start their Saturday morning with a nice snooze, but last Saturday, I had to fight off the will to stay in bed. The reason was waiting for me in SVČ Lužánky, where the first day of Live Yoga Love Brno was kicking off!

The classes I had registered were two international workshops, and the first one – Jivamukti Open Class – was starting as early as 9 in the morning. Due to that, I woke up to sunshine and the sight of morning squirrels making their way around the Lužánky park, a bit late but successfully arriving to register myself at the festival.

I expected the event to be half-empty as I was barely awake myself, however the sight surprised me – plenty of people were circling a variety of stands, chatting and being in high spirits. I rushed to the hall in which Alyona Tychonova from Moscow was about to give her workshop and barely found a place for my mat among 70-ish people already eagerly awaiting for a fix of morning yoga.

The demand for class was well deserved – Alyona proved to be a sympathetic instructor with amazing English, who easily guided the class into a hour and half of flowing Vinyasa yoga which was accessible for all levels. Roused up from the class, I used the break to venture out and find some snacks and ended up supplying myself with cookies from an all-vegetarian stand offering cakes, tortilla wraps and small sandwiches.

Next class was another international class – introduction to yogAsana by Granville Cousin from Manchester. Once again, a filled up class awaited Granville’s instructions in a lesson that proved to be more advanced. After a healthy amount of lunges, handstands and splits, I was free to enjoy the rest of the festival – which, by afternoon, completely filled up with visitors.

People were standing in queue for vegan lunches, and eating them in a specially designated area with cushions and blankets, accompanied with gentle sounds of two guys jamming on guitars.

There were stands and decorations everywhere, offering handmade jewelry, natural soaps, workout clothes, mats and other yoga equipment. Mingling around the busy atmosphere, I tried to find out more about certain products by chatting with the vendors, who were unfortunately pretty much English-shy.

Nevertheless, Live Yoga Love Brno proved to be a well-organized event with plenty of content for yoga lovers of all levels, regardless of being Czech or international.
