Performances will be held twice on the first of January in Stadion Hall at the Babylon Cultural Centre (Kulturní Centrum Babylon) in order to accommodate the demand from Brno’s many classical music enthusiasts.
The performances will feature music from a number of world famous composers including Johann Strauss, Gustav Mahler, Richard Strauss Hector Berlioz and Leonard Bernstein.
More information about this event and ticketing are available both on their website and on the Facebook page for this event. Shows will begin at 4:00pm and 8:00pm, the former of which will be an abbreviated programme.
If you have already made plans for New Year’s Day but would still like the opportunity to see Brno’s finest classical musicians, there will be a series of rehearsals open to the public in addition to the numerous concerts which will be put on in the coming year.
The open rehearsals are final tune-ups before actual concerts which will held throughout the year. They are held in the late morning and early afternoon hours of the day in order to accommodate those who are unable to attend late evening concerts.
Information on dates and ticket prices are also available on their website, as well as on the Facebook page for the open rehearsals programme.
