Pavel Mauer, well-known Czech food critic, is a face of the festival. “Grand Restaurant Festival will bring out the best that contemporary gastronomy in the Czech Republic can offer,” Prague’s bistro Gastronomica wrote about the festival’s 2017 edition.
The theme of 2018 festival is ‘Superfood’. ‘Super foods’ are nutritionally dense foods and hence good for one’s health. They contain nutrients, fiber, vitamins and mineral substances. Bee products, kale, quinoa, salmon, and mussels are just a few examples of foods that have earned the “superfood” label.
The festival is held at 89 luxury restaurants in the Czech Republic. Eight of them are located in Brno
- Forhaus wine & restaurant
- Holiday Inn Brno, Prominent
- Konfit
- La Bouchée
- Ristorante Piazza
- U Starýho Billa
- Valoria
You can enjoy special discount superfood menus which range from 250 to 600 CZK, depending on the menu choice – basic, two-course, or three-course tasting.
It is possible to book your degustation menu at one of the restaurants on the festival’s official page.
