Brno, Feb 14 (BD) – The city of Brno ranked highly among the “European Cities and Regions of the Future 2018/19” in an extensive survey by the prestigious British financial publication fDi Magazine, published by The Financial Times.

fDi compared nearly 500 European cities and regions in terms of their economic potential, labor market, cost efficiency, infrastructure, and the presence of a business-friendly environment. “fDi’s European Cities and Regions of the Future 2018/19 ranking seeks to find the most promising cities and regions across the whole of Europe, not just those that belong to the EU,” fDi writes on the official website.

In the competition of 489 cities and regions, Brno ranked highly in two categories. In the category of Human Capital and Lifestyle, Brno ranked sixth among medium-sized European cities.

The expert committee also assessed strategies to support the inflow of foreign investment. In this category, Brno was again ranked among the top ten medium-sized European cities.

The top three cities in the fDi’s overall ranking are London, Dublin, and Paris.

The UK’s capital has confirmed its position at the top of the foreign direct investment rankings. “London and Paris Region have respectively won top billing as overall European City and Region of the Future 2018/19,” fDi magazine reported in the press release on February 12.
