This “shirt-ironing“ competition will be held on February 24 from 1 pm to 5 pm. The participants can compete in teams, pairs, or individually for the title of “Ironing Master“.
Ironing is often deemed a woman’s task, but the winners of the first few competitions were men. In 2017, for the first time, a woman won. “This is the 4th year. Last year a student, Monika Daridová, won,” organizer Lenka Zemanová said to Brno Daily.
There is a program for children, too – they can draw a picture of an iron and win a prize. There are also ironing workshops every day from 11.30 and 15.30 from Feb. 19 until Feb. 24. “Our experts can teach people how to iron properly and easily,“ Zemanová explained.
The first prize will be a steam generator, and prizes such as vouchers from the partners and sponsors of the championship will also be awarded.
