Brno, Feb 26 (BD) – Every traveler has one or two funny toilet stories. Brno-center Town Hall has decided to prevent bad experiences and extend the standard network of public toilets in the center. To motivate businesses to offer bathroom services, the city councillors have decided to offer financial compensation for supplying and maintaining publicly accessible bathrooms.

“For ‘FREE WC’, we have allocated a total of 460,000 crowns from the budget, which means we can support up to 46 businesses a year, and I hope that in our district we will find businesses that will share our interest and become a friendly and welcoming area for both residents and tourists, a place they will like to come back to,” says Martin Landa, Mayor of Brno-střed.

“Each of the registered enterprises, if they meet the requirements, will receive financial support up to CZK 10,000 per year”, spokeswoman of Brno-center Kateřina Dobešová explains.

The conditions are that the businesses involved in the program will be visibly marked with the logo ‘FREE WC and will allow the use of their bathrooms free of charge not only to guests but also to passersby.

Brno-center Town Hall offers partial compensation for cleaning and hygienic products ensuing from the service. Subsidy applications will be accepted from March 23 to April 6, 2018.
