Brno, Feb 27 (BD) – The event culminated last weekend. 157,271 people visited it in 17 days, according to organizers.
“The most popular sports were curling, biathlon, snowboarding, and skateboarding. There was a hundred of sports celebrities at the festival,” the City of Brno reports on its official website.
Brno Mayor Petr Vokřál tried curling; the festival program also featured an autograph session with Brno’s ice hockey legends and current Kometa Brno players.
Brno citizens can look forward to gliding with curling stones, playing hockey, or skating on an oval skating track next winter as well. The City of Brno has bought the ice rinks and wants to maintain them and open them to the public every winter, Czech local daily Brnensky Denik wrote yesterday (February 26,2018).
