The introduction of FEM-March at Café In The Ghetto starts on March 2 with the screening of movie Frida (2002), depicting the life of Frida Kahlo, an extravagant Mexican painter. Photo: Café In The Ghetto, still from movie “Frida”

Frida Kahlo was an artist with a famous life full of tragedies, scandalous love affairs and a relationship with her notorious husband Diego Rivera.

She became known as a sexual and political revolutionary and a symbol for women’s outspokenness and bravery.

In the movie, Frida is played by Salma Hayek who was nominated for the Academy Award for the role. The film won two Oscars (for Best Music and Best Makeup).

Colorful interiors, amazing acting and the artistic surrealist scenes make this move exceptional.
