South Moravia has responded to the case of an ambulance that couldn’t place a patient in a hospital. A new web portal that will show the real-time number of available hospital beds should provide the solution. Photo: Zdravotnická záchranná služba JmK
Brno, Mar 13 (BD) – According to the City of Brno’s official website, an emergency meeting of representatives of regional rescue services, hospitals, the City of Brno, and the South Moravian Region has decreed that the incident involving an ambulance driving throughout the region in search of an open hospital bed for its patient must never be allowed to happen again.
The meeting was convened after an incident on Tuesday of last week, when an ambulance had to drive all over the region in search of an open hospital bed. The emergency services personnel were unable to place the patient at Brno University Hospital (Fakultní nemocnice Brno) or any other medical facilities in the city, reported the City of Brno on their website last Friday.
The solution will be a new web portal that will show the number of available places in South Moravian hospitals in real time. “We agreed that a single web portal would be set up to keep track of the number of free places in the hospitals that will be using the system. It will be managed by the South Moravian Region,” said the First Deputy Mayor of Brno, Petr Hladík.
