Brno, Mar 15 (BD) – The #VyjdiVen strike encourages citizens, in particular, university and high school students, to gather at náměstí Svobody on International Day Against Police Brutality (Thursday, March 15).

The strike is political, with the organizers having written down their demands on their Facebook page. They demand, among other things, that the current government in resignation (the government has lost a vote of confidence that was required in order to stay in office) “not take substantial and personnel measures, nor create new constitutional orders,” and that “the President of the Czech Republic honor the Czech Constitution and its moral value”. They have also expressed discontent with the fact that Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš faces allegations of subsidy fraud.

“The normalization of lies and the absence of basic responsibility have destructive consequences for our state and the whole of society, and we categorically reject them,” organizers write in their official public statement.

Some 4.000 people are following the Facebook event #VyjdiVen in Brno.

The protests start at 12 PM at náměstí Svobody.

Students across the United States were walking out of classrooms yesterday (March 14, 2018) to remember the victims of a bloody rampage at a Florida high school a month ago. “The violent events in Florida fueled a dynamic youth movement demanding an end to gun violence,” USA Today reported on Wednesday.
