Brno, Mar 23 (BD) – “Data.brno.cz is an open platform for sharing data on the City of Brno. Data are mainly collected by the city itself, and by the city’s companies and other providers,” Deputy Mayor Jaroslav Kacer explains on the website.
People can find open data on life in Brno in interactive and visually attractive charts. The website features charts on the number of university students, noise levels, the age structure of Brno’s population, data on the most busy working hours in Brno, or the number of foreigners in Brno by countries of origin.

“For Brno residents, there is an interesting application about greenery, an interactive map of traffic accidents, and an application on number of inhabitants based on data from mobile operators,” the City of Brno press release highlights.
“With this launch, we expect to raise interest, which will bring additional data from third parties, new applications and further development. Over the course of the next three months, we would like to organize a city ‘hackathon’, where we will specify our intentions and goals and what we expect from applications,” Kacer further added.
The new website is part of the #brno2050 official city strategy.
