Brno, Mar 28 (BD) – “We invite all enthusiasts of nautical transportation to the opening ceremony of the 72nd sailing season,” Brno Transport Company announced.
At 10:00 am, the captain’s boarding kicks off the ceremony. At 10:30 am, the ships will take off for a short cruise on the lake.
At 11:30 am, Brno’s ferries will start running according to a regular timetable with the first passengers of 2018.
You can find the new timetables for 2018 here. The prices are on the official website of Brno Transport Company, DPMB. As an example, one adult return ticket from “přístaviště Bystrc” to “Hrad Veveří” costs CZK 170.
According to the website Brnenskaprehrada.cz, the maiden voyages of the first public ferries to ever travel on Brno Lake, named Moravia and Brno, were held on May 5, 1946. They were able to carry up to 103 passengers each.
