Brno, May 2 (BD) – Works of 169 graphic designers from 26 countries from all over the world will be exhibited during this period, starting on May 10.

‘For over five decades, the Brno Biennial has provided a major international platform for exhibitions, discussions, and relevant accompanying programmes about graphic design and its importance to visual culture’, the organisers write.

Altogether, 725 artists from 53 countries showed interest in taking part in Biennial, submitting 1,450 projects in total, so the selection of work that will end up at Moravská galerie was not easy.

“The jury’s selection process aimed at accentuating projects that are daring yet elaborate from the point of view of concept and craftsmanship,” states the official press release.

Most of the selected works are related to the field of culture, such as promotion of cultural events, festivals, and magazines.

The Biennial will be accompanied by a rich and diverse programme of lectures, guided tours and other educational events.
