Brno, May 6 (BD) – Charting the history of space exploration from it’s earliest days to the present, the exhibition is comprised of over 200 authentic artefacts from US and Soviet missions, replicas of shuttles, early technology and a host of biographies among other attractions.

“We want to take people to space, not only show them the technical details,” says Ms Havelková, a representative for the organisers, JVS Group.

Walk through ten themed galleries and marvel at the Lunar Rover and the Mars Rover; study the details of a data recorder from the early days; step inside a space shuttle and, a must for any space fan, mission control centre.

For dedicated space exploration fans there is a wealth of information available, in Czech and English, as each exhibit is accompanied by texts (written and audio guides). Huge photos and pictures are supplemented with detailed biographies of the astronauts and highlights of missions which are informative, educational and fascinating.

The exhibition is also peppered with videos of original footage and interesting little nuggets such as how Coca-Cola and Pepsi got into a competition to provide carbonated drinks in containers suitable for space.

After peering at pieces of meteorite and finding out how much you weigh on other planets – which will make all women want to emigrate to Mars or Neptune – move on to the final room with the obligatory souvenirs, a gyroscope for the brave (Kč 50 charge) and a 3D experience (also Kč 50 extra).

Regardless of your level of interest in space exploration the exhibition should provoke your interest due to its wonderful displays, authenticity, attention to detail regarding replicas, great organisation and providing a vast amount of information Those of us who are not so young can have our memories jogged and reminisce about watching such events unfold whilst youngsters may well be inspired to be among the future generations of space explorers.
