It is organised by ChrisEvents, the agency which also organises the Chocolate Festival in the wintertime at the same location – Campus Square shopping mall. The success of the Chocolate Festival spurred Campus Square to have an event in the springtime as well.
“Making an event with chocolate is not easy [in the springtime] so we decided to choose another universal product. Cheese is perfect. You can do lot of things with cheese,“ says Chris, the agency’s manager.
CheeseFest 2018 will be held on Thursday May 24 from 2pm – 6pm, Friday May 25 from 10am – 6pm), and Saturday May 26 from 10am – 6pm.
There will be 16 stands with different specialities served with cheese – for example burgers, waffles and wine – with ingredients originating from Italy, the Netherlands and France, among other countries.
In addition to exploring the delicacies of Europe, you can take part in cooking demonstrations by helping the cooks out.
Musical performances will fill the time between the cooking demonstrations, and children will be entertained at two stands where they can do arts and crafts and have their faces painted.
