Brno. May 26 (BD) – Bach, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Robert and Klara Schumann, Wagner, Janacek – in the past, Leipzig was a centre of musical talent where many prominent composers lived and worked.
The letters from which these names are composed have been divided into a total of 128 separate panels which, like a crossword, form a five-meter tall sculpture called “25 Her (t) z”.
In the evening, the play of light and color, paired with a sound collage of the works of some of the most prominent composers in history, will take the audience on a trip to its partner city.

From May 29 to May 31, from 11am to midnight, visitors can sit down on the colorful cubes located in front of the installation and enjoy music and audio texts about the musical past of the City of Leipzig, the City of Brno reported yesterday on its official website.
“25 Her (t) z” will feature an accompanying programme every day.
The opening ceremony will be held in Moravské náměstí on Monday May 28 at 8pm. “The light artist will be there as well as the ensemble Amarcord from Leipzig who will perform at the installation before the first light and sound performance starts,” say the organisers.

The work is the joint creation of light artist Philip Morvan from France and musician Mike Dietrich from Leipzig, Germany. The project has already been introduced in Lyon, Rotterdam, Krakow, and Zurich. From Brno the project will continue on to Vienna.
