Naproti Absinthe Bar will be inundated with funnymen on Wednesday when a trio of quick-witted Irish and Scottish comedians come to Brno for Velvet Comedy’s last edition before this year’s summer break.

The Good, The Bad & The Irish include Irish comedians Michael Porter and Gary Lynch, and Grant Gallacher of Scotland.

Porter began doing stand-up in 2009 and was a finalist in ‘Show Me The Funny’ in Galway in 2012.

Porter, who hails from Muff in the north of Ireland (I’ll let Mr Porter explain!), spoke with Brno Daily about their upcoming show.

“The audience can expect a lot of Irish and energetic antics, storytelling, anecdotes and good genuine fun or ‘Craic!’ As we Irish say!” said Porter.

Lynch has been doing comedy for about a decade and was named Dublin Comedian of the Year in 2011.

Porter will be joined by Gary Lynch, who is described as “Ireland’s leading mid-life crisis comedian” by Laughing Horse, a British comedy promotion company.

The trio is completed by Grant Gallacher, the lone Scotsman of the group, who was a finalist for ‘Scottish Comedian Of the Year’ and has made appearances on BBC Radio Scotland.

Cultural journalism outfit The Skinny says that Gallacher is “one of Scotland’s best up-and-coming comedians.”

The Good, The Bad & The Irish tend to sell out, as they did last week in Linz, so it is advisable to buy your tickets ahead of time on GoOut, a link to which is available on this event’s Facebook page.

As always, any remaining tickets will be made available at the doors of Naproti Absinthe Bar, who will open their doors an hour before MC Kristýna Haklová introduces the first act at 8pm.

IMPORTANT UPDATE (28/5/2018, 12:11): Brno Daily has just been informed that Gary Lynch will be unable to attend Wednesday’s show at Naproti Absinthe Bar. However, comedians Michael Porter and Grant Gallacher will be performing as planned.
