Brno, Jun 20 (BD) – Tram tracks in Brno are to go through a grinding process to clean and prepare them for use. The City of Brno’s transport company (DPMB) has launched regular night grinding of tram tracks this month to restore the profile of worn tracks and remove defects.

The grinding will extend the life of the tracks and improve tram rides using the track. The works are scheduled during the night in order to maintain normal operation during the day. DPMB plans to work on 26 kilometers of tram tracks in the city. The grinding machine is a special track mounted vehicle, designed to remove rust and irregularities and prepare the tracks for use.
