Brno, Jul 22 (BD) – Brno residents can enjoy a new green space in the city center. Brno-center Town Hall has built a new park in Mendlovo náměstí for around 13 million CZK.

The park features a café made out of red shipping containers named “Cafe Plovárna”, and public toilets open every day. Use of the toilets is free of charge; access is possible with tokens available from the café. One interesting feature of the park is a pergola with hops, a reference to the nearby brewery.

The opening ceremony took place on Friday. On Monday afternoon, visitors will be able to learn more about the park. A guided tour with architects Zdeněk Sendler and Lucie Hradilová will take place on Monday, July 23 at 4 pm.
