On Saturday, August 11, Brno Expat Centre (BEC) invites you to sample 100 different wines selected for this event by the National Wine Centre in the cellars of the Valtice Chateau. The 90-minute program includes a short introduction in English to Moravian Wine, and local sommeliers will be there to answer your questions.

The town of Valtice, a part of the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape (map) located one hour by train from Brno, is listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. The town is a centre of wine-growing and tourism in the region, where you can not only sample wonderful wines but also visit the chateau and stroll around its park.

The adventure starts at 12:15 with a meeting of the participants at Brno Central train station. You can return anytime you want, as the train leaves every two hours. The whole group goes back together in the evening.

As the Brazilian lyricist and novelist Paulo Coelho wrote in his book Brida: “Accept what life offers you and try to drink from every cup. All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle”, so visit this page to reserve your place, and also find more details about the programme and costs. It is recommended to bring your own food.
