The city company Brno Communications a.s. has started removing bicycles from the streets of Brno. Following the initial controversy when many were concerned that the new regulations would affect bicycles of bike-sharing companies parked outside of designated areas, the Council has clarified the nature of the planned removals. Brno, Aug 9 (BD) – Only obvious wreckages and bikes obstructing public paths are to be towed. “After today’s City Council meeting, cyclists will be able to relax a bit. Firstly, the Department of Transport has assured the City Council that it will only be removing bicycles with missing parts and obvious wrecks, or ones that obviously impede movement [of cars, other bikes, and pedestrians] or threaten safety,” wrote Deputy Mayor of Brno Martin Ander on Facebook on Tuesday.

The first four bike wreckages were towed on Tuesday.
