New pavilion “D” will be built at the Brno Exhibition Center (BVV). At the same time, pavilion “C” will be renovated. The city representatives (“zastupitelstvo”) approved a 350 million CZK loan for this purpose to Brno Trade Fairs a.s., the owner of BVV. Photo credit: BVV.
Brno, Sep 7 (BD) – The company will receive the money in 2019 and 2020. The loan must be repaid by the end of 2024. The total investment in both pavilions will be 500 million CZK. Brno Trade Fairs will provide the remaining 150 million CZK from its own resources, according to the City of Brno’s website.
It is worth mentioning that in the past, BVV was home to another “Pavilion D”, with a progressive ceiling structure designed by Radus Russ. In 2012-14 the pavilion underwent a complete reconstruction according to the K4 studio project (Jan Lacina, Zdena Němcová, Vladimír Pacek). The former “D” is now the main building of the VIDA! science center.
