Brno, Oct 18 (BD) – The renovation of Zábrdovický Bridge, constructed in the 1940s, is necessary mainly due to its poor technical condition.
After the repairs are completed, the bridge will serve as the main alternative route during the planned full renovation of Tomkovo náměstí, according to the City’s traffic website kopemezabrno.cz on Monday, October 15. “This does not just mean work on the bridge, which actually makes up only a small part of what needs to be done. All engineering networks will be updated for nearly half a kilometre of the street,” explains kopemezabrno.cz.
Public transport will be limited in the area from Monday, October 22, 2018.
According to the contract, the work should be completed within 15 months.
Planned changes to routes:
- Zábrdovická and part of Cejl from the junction with Francouzská and Vranovská will be closed during renovation. Zábrdovický Bridge will be closed.
- Pedestrians will be able to cross the bridge.
- Arrival at the Military Hospital will be possible from the Stará osada side.
- The main public transport hub will move to Dělnický dům.
