Brno, Oct 28 (BD) – The newly opened exhibition is formed of two main sections – one is devoted to dogs and the other to cats. Two pieces of audiovisual art – the movies “Smells Like Paradise” and “Street Cat Deluxe” – will be continuously broadcast in separate rooms, available in several languages including English and German.
“Smells Like Paradise”
Immigrants can be found everywhere in the world. However, how we feel is always the same. No matter what our goal is, we all meet at a common point where we start to make comparisons between our lives in different cities or countries. This is a well-represented and meaningful part of the exhibition, as the artist gives a voice to the parallel stories of two dogs in Bucharest and Vienna. Many different themes are present, including exile, migration, city structures, and political power.
“Street Cat Deluxe”
Have you ever believed that cats can speak? Well, in this exhibition you can listen to cats talking about their own problems, and giving their perspective on how people have been dealing with problems that concern everyone living in Istanbul, including gentrification and the intertwining lives of humans and street animals.

Ovidiu Anton is originally from Timişoara, Romania. He grew up in Vienna and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. He still lives and works there.
Ovidiu Anton’s work is full of strong messages which are brought into existence via videos, objects and drawings. His works touch upon different cultures, social layers, and political realities which aim to subvert stereotypical structures.
