“Owning up to their true nature, easy to approach difficult to leave, you don’t need to tell them what to do but just listen”, is how this week’s headliners introduce themselves. Liliana Velasquez and Carmen Chraim, “two strong brown bitches with colourful squads”, will be at Bar Naproti on Wednesday to entertain Brno’s comedy fans.
Liliana Velasquez is a Colombian-American comedian, model, actress, and tango instructor based in Berlin, and the founder and principal member of the Freudian Slip Club. She is returning to Brno for the first time since a hit show in April this year. Her comedy is strongly autobiographical, covering themes such as sex, BDSM, and reflections on bi-cultural identity. Liliana takes no prisoners: “I don’t do online dating because all apps are made for swiping and I prefer to back hand my match.”
Carmen Chraim, born and raised in Lebanon, combines high-energy presence, quick-witted anecdotes, and sarcastic political commentary. She has been described as “an alternative Arab success story that hasn’t yet been discovered by the media” and is famed for her passion for hummus.
