Brno, Nov 29 (BD) – The castle will host thirteen winemakers, presenting wines from all four wine areas of Moravia. As an interesting addition to the wine tasting, people can visit the exhibitions and parts of the castle that are usually closed to the public. Kalábek said: ‘‘We will open seven permanent museum exhibitions and two contemporary exhibitions for the visitors. People will also see the eastern wing of the castle, which is open only rarely, and the beautiful spaces of the castle tower and chapel.’’

This will be the second year of “Víno z blízka na Špilberku”. “However, the festival itself, Víno z blízka, has a longer tradition. It has been running for a few years in various other places. Last year was the festival’s first time at Špilberk, and it was a great success,” said Michael Kalábek, the spokesman and PR for Špilberk Castle.

One Ticket, Countless Possibilities

With one entrance ticket, people will get the chance to see the entire castle and taste wines from the Moravia region. With the extended ticket, visitors can view permanent exhibitions including “The New Brno, “Vulcanalia” or the popular “From the Castle to the Fortress” and “The Dungeon of the Peoples” and two temporary exhibitions “1918 – What The War Gave And Took Away” (till December 31) and “The Marionettes of Pavel and Marie Jirásek” (till January 20).

WiFi at Špilberk to Make Shopping for Wine Easier

Kalábek describes the wine-tasting festival at Špilberk Castle as “a unique combination of wine, history, and art”. The festival offers 100 varieties of wine to taste and buy for the holiday dinner table or as a gift under the Christmas tree. Conveniently, Wifi will be available in the entire castle, so that visitors can also choose and order varieties of wine from the online e-shop.
